Harbour City Rally From Two Down to Win 3–2
A fearless second-half switch turned a flat cup opener into a five-goal finish at Breakwater Ground.
Northbridge take control
Harbour City opened their Coastal Cup campaign with a 3–2 win that seemed impossible at half-time. Northbridge Athletic were sharper from the first whistle at Breakwater Ground, pressing the hosts into hurried clearances and winning second balls around the penalty area. Their reward arrived after 18 minutes when Ada Serrano met a low cross at the near post and steered it beyond goalkeeper Nia Bell.
The visitors doubled the lead in the 39th minute. A loose Harbour pass became a quick counter, and Rowan Pike finished from the edge of the box before the defence could recover. Northbridge went into the break 2–0 ahead, while Harbour left to a chorus of anxious noise after producing only one shot on target.
One change opens the game
Coach Elian Ward resisted a full reshuffle but changed the width of the match. Winger Mara Voss came on in the 55th minute and immediately stayed high on the right, forcing Northbridge's left-back away from midfield. Six minutes later, Voss chased a pass that looked too long, kept it in play, and cut the ball back for Imani Cole to score from eight yards.
Harbour's belief returned with the crowd. Bell saved a Pike header at the other end, preserving the one-goal gap, before the hosts earned a corner in the 78th minute. Voss delivered it toward the penalty spot and captain Leila Hart rose above two defenders to head in the equaliser.
Voss completes the turn
Northbridge tried to slow the closing minutes, but Harbour continued to attack the space behind their tiring full-backs. In the 89th minute, Cole recovered the ball near halfway and released Voss down the right. The substitute carried it into the area, shaped as if she would cross, then drove a low finish inside the far post for 3–2.
There was still time for one final Northbridge free kick, which Hart headed clear. The whistle confirmed a comeback built on a precise tactical change rather than a frantic roll of the dice. Harbour were 2–0 behind at half-time; Voss entered after 55 minutes and had influenced every home goal by the end.
